Assisted Living and Nursing Homes
Although a service primarily used by Arkansas’ senior population, Assisted Living Facilities and Programs, and the various levels of nursing facilities throughout the state, provide care to all ages.
Assisted Living is a special combination of housing, supportive services, personalized assistance and health care designed to assist those who need help with the routine activities of daily living. It is not designed to provide skilled nursing care to a patient. Skilled and Intermediate Care / Long Term Care facilities provide rehabilitative care, post hospitalization, as well as skilled nursing care for those patients needing daily medical care.

If you need financial assistance for one of these services, you may be eligible for the state Medicaid program. Financial eligibility for Medicaid is determined by the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ Division of County Operations (DOC).
