Do Not Call List
Do unwanted telemarketing phone calls annoy you? If so, be advised that you can add your telephone number to the National Do Not Call Registry. Registration of your phone number will substantially reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive.
How Do I Register My Number?
- Registration of your number is free.
- Your number will remain on the list until you remove it or until you discontinue service to that number. There is no expiration.
- You can register both residential landline and personal wireless phone numbers on the Do Not Call List.
- To register online, visit www.donotcall.gov.
- To register by telephone, call toll-free to (888) 382-1222 from the number you wish to register.
How To File A Do Not Call Complaint
- To file a complaint by telephone, call toll-free to (888) CALL-FCC 225-5322).
- To file a complaint by fax, send a fax to (866) 418-0232.
- To file a complaint online, visit www.donotcall.gov.

How Does the Do Not Call List Protect Me
- Telemarketers and sellers are not allowed to call phone numbers that are registered on the Do Not Call List if the purpose of the call is to sell goods or services. Violators are subject to fines. Each call may be considered a separate violation.
- Telemarketers and sellers are required to search the Do Not Call Registry at least once every 31 days and drop from their call lists the phone numbers of consumers who are registered.
- The only information that is released to the telemarketer is your phone number. Nothing else about you, not even your name, is provided to the telemarketer.
The federal Do Not Call List was established by the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission to respond to complaints by consumers regarding unwanted telemarketing calls. Do Not Call restrictions do not apply to:
- Calls from organizations with which you have a previous business relationship. A company with an established business relationship may call you for up to 18 months after the consumer’s last purchase or last delivery, or last payment, unless the consumer asks the company not to call again.
- Calls for which you have given prior written, express permission.
- Calls that are not commercial in nature or do not include unsolicited advertisements.
- Calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations.
Arkansas Do Not Call Law
After the National Do Not Call List was established, the existing Arkansas Do Not Call list was merged with the federal list. Now, if you are registered on the federal list you enjoy the protections of both the federal and Arkansas Do Not Call laws.
